Cliff Mott is a professional illustrator and cartoonist, residing in Brooklyn, N.Y. His career in illustration is characterized by a humorous sensibility fused with a healthy skepticism expressed in his work at Rankin/Bass, Cracked Magazine, and varied freelance projects over multiple media platforms at Marvel Comics, Playboy Entertainment and many more. After some freelance cartooning at Cracked, Mott was hired as Art Director, joining Mort Todd as editor at that magazine. While there, Mott worked with legendary, comic artists (and childhood heroes), John Severin, Don Martin and Steve Ditko.
During this phase of his career, he delivered illustrations to such diverse media groups as The New York Post, Readers Digest, Heeb, The New York Press, Geffen Records, Sub Pop Records, Hal Leonard Publishing and Marvel Comics Group.
Mott was thrilled to exhibit his work at the Fuse Gallery at Lit Lounge in New York city. He later had shows at the Never Records Installation at Tower Records and 174 Rivington Gallery. In 2023, Mott was charged to contribute to legendary Punk Magazine, which was packaged with the release of Iggy Pop’s new release, Every Loser, and looks forward to any future collaborations.
